Gaming in our Club

Club Gaming Groups, Characters and Campaigns

Due to the structure of our regular gaming meetings, we handle characters and campaigns a little different than private gaming groups. While most times a character in a private group is created for a certain campaign and only played for this occasion, a "club character" needs to be a little bit more flexible.

The reason for this is the lack of predictability, which players and game masters wil be attending and which gaming groups will play at a certain club evening. Most times, this is discussed beforehand in our internet forum. But many groups are formed right on the spot in our club, depending on the wishes of the present people.

For this reason, it is usual that many characers are played under different game masters and that campaigns have changing participants. Due to this, the game master can't always take too much care for the non-present regular players, but has to advance the actual game with the present players.

So it's very wise to create your character in a way that he or she fits in as many groups as possible, with as little "corners and edges" the game master has to deal with as possible. It's also a good idea not to put too much effort in a background story or a personal goal, for sometimes it will be hard to play this out in a proper manner in many groups. And enforcing these things in a regular group will unlikely lead to much enjoyment for both you and the group. You should also be ready to accumulate many characters in many different settings and systems over time instead of playing just one character for a very long time.

At the end, it should be noted that we try to create groups and game sessions which allow as many players and characters to participate as possible and that we are no nit-pickers when it comes to time and space in our gaming worlds. For example, just because the group is gaming in a time-line before the character is even born, should not mean that your character can't participate. Or you can even play your one character in two different gaming groups at the same time. As long as you're fine with your character, the other gamers will be too.

Anmerkung: im dritten Absatz würde ich schon "played under different game masters" belassen - "played by game masters" würde ja implizieren, dass der SL die Charaktere spielt und nicht der Spieler, oder? Wäre zumindest meinem Sprachgefühl nach so gewesen, mag mich aber auch irren...

Klingt nach einer guten Lösung.

kein Problem,

was mir gerade aufgefallen ist, auf der Startseite wird mir der Link zum Forum nicht angezeigt (ich verwende zoom 110%) bei 100% geht es auch nicht.
Ich kann den beigen Bereich auch nicht herunter scrollen. (ich muss den zoom auf 67% stellen um die Links zu sehen)
Auf meinem Handy wird es mir allerdings richtig angezeigt.

Ich wusste ein Paar Wochen nicht das auf der Homepage überhaupt ein Link zum Forum ist.

Da mein Englisch nicht SO gut ist, habe ich mich beim Übersetzen lieber raus gehalten, und ich weiß in "nachhinein meckern" ist immer leicht, vor allem wenn man zuvor nicht mal mitgeholfen hat, ich hoffe also es fühlt sich niemand auf den "Schlips getreten" - aber ich weiß auch wie das mit "Betriebsblindheit und Tunnelblick" bei Projekten ist die man schon auswendig kennt... also hier eine Anmerkung:

Ich finde den Zuatz...

...sinnvoll, doch so wie er momentan angeführt ist, schaut es so aus, wie ob er zu "Food and drink" dazu gehört, wo er eigentlich ja nicht dazu gehört...

Mein VORSCHLAG entweder eine Zwischen Überschrift, zb. "Sessions Language" oder den Absatz einfach nach oben schieben...
